CIFST-SIRIO Nutrition

Co-founded by SIRIO and the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST), the CIFST Food Science and Technology Special Fund – CIFST-SIRIO Nutrition, Health & Food Technology Innovation Fund supports a three-year program focused on frontier topics in nutrition and health. Through phased funding, the initiative advances breakthrough technologies and accelerates the translation of research into practical applications, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of the nutraceutical industry.

Project Application and Timeline

Eligible Applicants

Eligible Applicants Universities, research institutes, testing organizations, and medical institutions in China with relevant research, development, and testing capabilities are invited to apply to advance frontier technologies and industrial applications in the nutraceutical industry.

Grant

Each approved project will receive RMB 100,000 to RMB 150,000, subject to expert review.

    Focuses on efficient delivery and stabilization of water- and oil-soluble functional ingredients to enhance bioavailability and underpin next-generation nutraceutical development.

    Explores the role of next-generation probiotics, particularly Akkermansia muciniphila (AKK), in gut health, metabolism, and cognition to advance new approaches in nutrition science.
