On February 19, SIRIO, a globally recognized CDMO in the nutritional health sector, unveiled the Sirio Institute for Anti-Aging (SIA) at the 2025 Boao Food for Health Science Conference and Expo. Created in collaboration with leading anti-aging research experts, this strategic initiative aims to bridge scientific innovation with industrial application, focusing on anti-aging mechanisms to meet rising market demand and address the global challenge of an aging population. SIRIO collaborates with global clients to advance anti-aging innovation through a rigorously evidence-based approach, rooted in verifiability, traceability, and applicability, to support healthier, longer lives.

At the unveiling ceremony, more than 100 esteemed guests gathered to witness this milestone event. Distinguished attendees included Zhang Jinjing, former Chief Inspector and Director of the Department of Special Food Safety Supervision at the State Administration for Market Regulation; Academician Chen Junshi of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chief Advisor at the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment and a leading authority on nutrition and food safety; Academician Xu Zhihong of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and former President of Peking University; Professor Sun Jianqin, Head of the Nutrition Department at Huadong Hospital affiliated with Fudan University and Director of the Shanghai Geriatric Nutrition and Health Quality Control Center; Dr. Wu Chun, Managing Director, Senior Partner, and Executive Partner for Greater China at Boston Consulting Group; Dr. Wang Zhao, Professor at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tsinghua University; Dr. Vincenzo Sorrentino, Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore; and Dr. Xiong Bo, Qiushi Distinguished Professor at Zhejiang University. They were joined by members of SIRIO’s leadership team, along with industry experts, academic scholars, and client representatives.

Advancing Translational Impact

Through Four Strategic Pillars

As global ageing accelerates, healthy ageing has evolved from a societal concern into a strategic cross-industry priority. With growing interest in evidence-based solutions to delay ageing and improve well-being, the anti-aging industry is entering a period of accelerated expansion, creating a new blue ocean of trillion-dollar potential.

Guided by foundational research and consumer insight, the SIA will concentrate on four core areas in its first phase: cellular function, gut health and probiotics, muscle and joint performance, and ovarian vitality. Through a structured scientific approach, the institute aims to provide rigorously validated ingredients and innovative formulations. With a view to bringing scientific advances in anti-aging to market, the SIA will build on SIRIO’s three decades of CDMO experience in nutritional product development and manufacturing. Through collaboration across its global R&D and production ecosystem, the institute aims to deliver highly targeted, customizable, and scalable anti-aging innovations to consumers worldwide.

Unlocking Global Scientific Insight

with Leading Anti-Ageing Experts

Amid transformative shifts in the global health landscape, the SIA has assembled a top-tier team of international and domestic experts, forming a scientific powerhouse committed to advancing anti-aging research. With deep expertise in aging mechanisms, ingredient development, and formulation science, the team is set to energize the institute's innovation pipeline, driving breakthroughs and accelerating the commercialization of anti-aging solutions.

Dr. Lyu Yuxuan, Assistant Professor at Southern University of Science and Technology’s Institute of Frontier Biotechnology and School of Medicine, has been named Director of the SIA. He will spearhead the Scientific Committee’s efforts to harness global research insights and drive innovation across the anti-aging industry. The founding members of the Scientific Committee include Dr. Richard A. Miller, Professor of Pathology at the University of Michigan and Director of the Paul Glenn Center for Biology of Aging Research; Dr. Wang Zhao, Professor at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Tsinghua University; and Professor Dario Riccardo Valenzano, Senior Group Leader at the Leibniz Institute on Aging.

Guided by a commitment to scientific evidence, the SIA will explore emerging anti-aging technologies and promote standardized practices to foster sustainable growth across the industry. SIRIO also remains committed to advancing R&D and delivering safe, high-quality, and nutrient-rich health solutions that broaden access to anti-aging innovation and raise global standards for longevity and wellness.
