2023 marked a strategic leap for SIRIO, as it acquired a 70% stake in Best Formulations, a leading manufacturer in the nutritional health industry. This milestone extended SIRIO's reach to the U.S. West Coast, creating a synchronized tri-regional production network across Asia, the United States, and Europe. Best Formulations now serves as a critical driver of SIRIO's deepening presence in the nutritional health space, injecting fresh momentum into the company's global growth trajectory.

Born at Home, Built to Lead

At the end of 1984, Charlie Ung, a skilled formulator, departed from a leading health supplement firm to start Best Formulations from his home, where he set out to offer clients expert formulation and blending solutions. At the outset, he outsourced the blending of ingredients for his formulations to external manufacturing partners.

Soon after, Charlie developed concerns about the reliability of his manufacturing partners and the quality of finished products. He promptly secured a production site, installed his first mixer, and took direct control of the process to guarantee exceptional product standards for his clients.

For more than 30 years, Charlie guided Best Formulations through continuous growth and expansion. The company built three nutrition-focused facilities in California's City of Industry and, in 2022, brought personal care production under the same roof. Today, it serves as a one-stop manufacturing partner with robust capabilities in formulation, production, and packaging for both nutrition and personal care products.

Rooted in Plants, Trusted for Health

In 2000, plant-based softgels emerged in the U.S. market. Best Formulations was among the first manufacturers to begin researching and producing them. Following this, Best Formulations achieved relevant certifications in the U.S., enabling the large-scale commercial production of seaweed-based, non-animal softgels. It continues to be a major player in the North American market, manufacturing several hundred million plant-based softgels each year.

In pursuit of ongoing innovation in plant-based softgel technology, Best Formulations launched a dedicated research and development center focused on developing non-GMO, gluten-free, plant-based, and vegan formulations. Equipped with 12 high-speed production lines, Best Formulations' softgel manufacturing site enables the efficient encapsulation of diverse formulations in a range of sizes, shapes, and flavor profiles. To date, the company has delivered hundreds of successful plant-based softgel products that have been widely accepted by the market.
